Snake!

Spot the disappearing grass snake (clue - follow the dog's nose).

A 4ft long grass snake was basking in the Spring sunshine when spotted by Herbie.  Being a cautious dog, he sniffed carefully at its tail. The snake promptly uncurled and slipped into the safety of the woodpile, showing its fine striped markings as it went.

Spring on the pond

A clear Spring day. A film of green as the new leaves get going. Bluebells pushing up everywhere. On the pond the mallards are pairing up, squabbling to find partners and then retreating upstream for a little privacy. The moorhens are already building nests and quacking at anyone who comes near.
